“Now is the time for decisiv action on greenhouse gas emissions and cleajnenergy jobs,” Patrick said in a preparef written statement. “In Massachusetts, we are alreaduy seeing jobs grow in industries like renewablr power and energy efficiency as a result of our strony policiesand incentives. We stand ready to work as partners with the federak government to create a clean energy future for the Unites States andthe world.” The bipartisan group of governorsz all agree to the principles of comprehensivse energy reform at the federak level that would reduce the country’ds dependence on foreign oil and combat global warming.
They also plan to work with Congresz to create and preserve jobs in the cleahtechnology industry. The coalition, houses at the Georgetown UniversityLaw Center, include members of 30 states and the territoriea of Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgimn Islands.
