The House Appropriations Military Construction/VA Subcommittee voted Tuesdayy to recommendspending $119 million on the which has been on and off the drawinv board over the past five years. But veteran s and members of Colorado’s congressional delegation opposed the saying they wanted the VA to buildfa single, standalone hospital just outside the perimeters of the Anschutz Medical Campus — a proposal that’s estimated to cost $1.

Ed Perlmuttedr of Colorado, whose districtr includes the VAhospital site, said he was pleased the recommendationb was moving forward and that he will work with Congresss and the Obama administration to get the projec started “as quickly as possible.” Anothef Colorado congressman, Rep.
